About the Speaker:

Emília Perez is an Associate Professor at the Department of Translation Studies, Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, Slovakia.  In both research and training she focuses on audiovisual translation and media accessibility, translator competences and business administration in translation. Since 2019, she has been a member of the Executive Board of the European Master’s in Translation network (EMT). In 2020 she set up the EMT working group on audiovisual translation and media accessibility training in Europe and in the same year initiated a successful cross-border workshop series titled From Translation to Accessibility: EMT Train the Trainer Summer School. Since 2021 she is a member of the European Association for Studies in Screen Translation (ESIST) Executive Board. As a trainer, access coordinator and invited expert she has been cooperating with several international projects, events and initiatives (e.g. One World International Film Festival 2020-2025; Directorate-General for Translation of the European Parliament, Luxembourg 2020-2025; SubSign Project 2024-2025, AMAC – Master’s in Accessibility to Media, Arts and Culture, Macerata 2023).
