The Research Group of Language and Technologies at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Kaunas University of Technology (KTU), together with the Directorate-General for Translation of the European Commission (DGT) (Vilnius Field Office), and in collaboration with the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, (Slovakia), the University of Vienna (Austria), Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto (ISCAP) (Portugal), Università degli studi Internazionali di Roma, UNINT (Italy), and the University of Antwerp (Belgium) invites  and brings together for discussions and best practice exchange the main translation stakeholders: universities, language industry representatives, freelance translators and students in the 5th Translating Europe Workshop (TEW) From Translation to Accessibility: EMT Train the Trainer Summer School, titled Audiovisual Translation in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: changes, challenges, possibilities.

The 5th (TEW) workshop and the EMT Train the Trainer Summer School provides a framework to share expertise and good practices in audiovisual translation and media accessibility training across Europe, with a main focus on training strategies, resources, integration of AI based and other technologies. The workshop will reflect on challenges, opportunities, possibilities that emerge due to the rapid development of various tools.

The event will also focus on the application of various tools, technologies that can aid in the process of translation and will also discuss challenges, possibilities, transitions, opportunities and practically experienced lessons. Representatives of language industry will introduce current state of the art and language industry needs so as academia will take the aspects into consideration in translator training practices.

The event is organized in a hybrid mode: on-site at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities and via ZOOM. All the registered participants will be provided with a link before the event.

The event is free of charge.
